A transitional landscape of dunes, forested ridges and high steppe in western Mongolia.
Zavkhan is a transitional region between the western mountains and the central steppe, with sand dunes, forested ridges and high-altitude grassland inside a single aimag. It is less documented than its neighbours in our own records, and species availability here is confirmed with your outfitter at the time of enquiry rather than fixed in advance.
We include it in our range because the terrain itself is genuinely varied, but we are upfront that it needs a direct conversation before booking a hunt here.
