Yurt Camp Stays in Mongolia

Traditional ger accommodation across the steppe, desert and lake regions.

A ger, or yurt, is still the most practical way to stay across most of rural Mongolia, and the camps we work with range from simple family-run stopovers to well-appointed tourist camps with private facilities. This page is your guide to what a yurt camp stay actually involves and how to choose between them.

We match the camp to your route and comfort expectations rather than defaulting to one operator’s fixed network.

Most yurt camps sit along a route rather than as a standalone destination — a comfortable, characterful stop between the places you are actually travelling to see.

Camps vary considerably in comfort, from basic family gers to camps with attached bathrooms and dining gers; we tell you honestly what to expect at each stop on your itinerary.
