Mongolian gazelle range across the vast eastern steppe of Dornod and Sukhbaatar, in herds that move fast and unpredictably across open grassland. There is little cover on this terrain, so a hunt is built around patient glassing, reading how a herd is moving, and shooting at genuine distance rather than a close stalk.
It is a different discipline from mountain hunting, and suits hunters who are comfortable with long-range shots and open, exposed country.
