Fishing Permits and Regulations in Mongolia

Licences, protected waters and catch-and-release rules for fishing in Mongolia.

Fishing in Mongolia is licensed, and taimen fishing in particular is subject to strict catch-and-release rules designed to protect a species that recovers slowly from pressure. Licences, protected-water restrictions and any seasonal quotas are arranged by your local outfitter as part of the trip, and we confirm that everything is in place before you travel.

We do not sell fishing packages ourselves — we tell you honestly what is required for the river and dates you have in mind, and put you with an outfitter who handles the paperwork properly.

Good to Know
