The Mongolian Nomadic Experience

Travel slowly through the steppe and meet the communities who live on it.

The Nomadic Experience is built for travellers who want to see how people actually live on the steppe, not just pass through it. Over several days you travel slowly between herding communities, staying in gers and moving at the pace of the land rather than a fixed itinerary.

It is a private tour, matched to your dates and interests, and built with families and hosts we have visited ourselves rather than a fixed commercial circuit.

Note: this page uses the copy already agreed with the client for this tour — replace with their approved text if it differs from this draft.

Each day moves between a driving or riding leg and time spent with a herding family — sharing food, helping with daily chores if you want to, or simply observing life that has not changed its basic rhythm in generations.

Camps and homestays are arranged in advance, but the pace within each day stays flexible around weather, mood and what the family is doing that day.
