Uvurkhangai Province

Our main region: the Orkhon Valley, Karakorum and the families we place travellers with.

Uvurkhangai is the region we know best and the one most of our travellers pass through, whatever they have come to Mongolia for. It holds the Orkhon Valley and Karakorum, the ancient Mongol capital, alongside the Hangai foothills where we arrange hunting, horseback routes and our Nomad Living stays.

Because it sits closer to Ulaanbaatar than most other regions, it also works well as a first or last stop on a longer itinerary.

For hunting specifically in this province, see our Hunting in Uvurkhangai page.

AccessCloser to Ulaanbaatar than most other regions

Most itineraries here combine a cultural day around Karakorum and the Orkhon Valley with time in the countryside — riding, staying with a family, or hunting, depending on what you have planned.

Because logistics are already well established in this region, it also combines easily with a Gobi or Khuvsgul extension either side.
