A tightly curled, highly prized trophy among the canyons of the South Gobi.
Gobi argali (Ovis ammon darwini) is smaller in body and horn than its Altai cousin, but the tight curl of a mature ram’s horns makes it a highly valued trophy in its own right. It is hunted across the canyons, clay plains and low desert mountains of Omnogovi in the South Gobi.
The terrain calls for a different hunting style than the western mountains: long-distance glassing across open desert country, followed by a fast, direct approach once an animal is located, using the broken ground for cover.
We match you to an outfitter working a genuinely productive Gobi concession and manage the permit and quota process from enquiry onward.
